How long do roofs last?
A typical asphalt roof can last 25-30 years. However, in the latter years you run the risk of leaks which can lead to mold, electrical fires, damage to your attic and ceilings and higher energy bills. Regular roof maintenance, including checking for clogged gutters and missing shingles, will ensure that these issues don’t arise.
What are the best roofing shingles?
The main materials for roofs are asphalt shingles. But there are other materials as well, such as Spanish tile, metal roofs and rubber for flat roofs. Our team of roofing contractors can help you pick out the roof shingle that best suits your home and style.
How often does a roof need to be replaced?
Although shingled roofs can last 25-30 years, we recommend changing shingles every 20 years. The sun can make shingles brittle and curl up. There’s mold and moss as well. By changing shingles the roofer can see if any plywood needs to be changed.
