Windows can have low maintenance exteriors, which are generally vinyl and come in a range of colors to match the exterior of the house. The inside could be vinyl, unfinished pine or primed pine.

Most new replacement windows now have energy saving treatments on the glass known as Low-E. Low-E glass options (from Andersen Windows) helps to control heating and cooling costs. They also filter out almost 100% of UV rays.

There are actually different types of glass you can order such as tinted, tempered safety glass and dual pane. Those options are not as common as patterned frosted glass which lets light in but does not allow visuals from the outside or inside. This is especially common on bathroom windows.
